This Pebble Beach property came to us with good bones and forty years of deferred updates. The original mid-century floor plan — open, horizontal, and oriented toward a stunning ocean view — was the right idea executed with outdated materials. We stripped the kitchen back to the studs, replaced tired cabinetry with custom walnut built-ins, opened a load-bearing wall to restore the original sight lines, and refinished the concrete floors throughout. The result respects everything the original architects intended while meeting the demands of contemporary life on the Monterey Peninsula.
